Norrköping - Sweden

Norrköping is a city in Sweden, where the administrative seat of the municipality of Norrköping in Östergötland. It is located by the Motala River near its confluence with the Bråviken, the Baltic Sea coast. Norrköping has about 83 561 inhabitants and is known as Manchester or Beijing, Sweden.

Norrköping received city rights in the 1384th Its development since the seventeenth century as a major industrial center of southern Sweden owes Motala River. Church of Sts. Matthew in Norrköping

Church of Sts. Matthew in Norrköping (Matteus kyrka, Norrköping). The parish church of the Swedish Evangelical Lutheran Church in the parish of the same name in Norrköping, in the diocese of Linköping.

The church was built in neo-Gothic style by architect Helgo Zettervalla in the years 1887-1892. The church was consecrated May 8, 1892 the then Bishop of Linköping, Alfred Carl Cornelius.

Church of Sts. Matthew is a temple hall, a three-nave. From the east tower is high at 64 m, which is surrounded by four pinnacles. Suspended on the tower are three bells, weighing respectively 2107, 1246 and 811 kg.

History

November 15, 1613 German inhabitants of Norrköping has been authorized for the construction of Duke Johan's own temple. Architecture
